Today I cleaned my garage. Little did I know how much crap I had accumulated in my years in Tennessee. It seems almost as if I'm throwing away as much as I put away. From clothes I'll never wear to little knick-knacks that I saved from vacations to papers from school, it seems I've saved just a little bit of every single day of my life.

I gotta face it. I'm a pack rat. I accumulate *stuff* and display it. My collections are out of hand, and that's even after I've managed to cull them down. Sure, that Kit Cat Clock is really cool, but do I need *6* of them? Hot Wheels? I must have 1000. Magazines? Chances are I've read the majority of what's out there. I even bought 7 more yesterday. Stuffed animals. Bottle caps. Model cars. Toy Story figures. Music. Movies. Pictures. Just general crap. I got a *bunch* of it.

I need help. Unlike the article, we don't consider it "de-cluttering." It's "de-shitting" our lives. When I go out I have to make a conscious effort not to buy stuff. I think twice about what I really *want* and what I really *need.* I gotta get organized!

Moving into the new house in Florida has been a chore. Just today I was telling Laura that I was sick and tired of living out of a box and that I just wanted to be settled in. We've had boxes around us since the 20th of December. 16 days later and we're not anywhere near settled. The master bedroom looks like a nuclear holocaust, the broken dining room table is *still* in the dining room upside down. There are picture boxes all over the living room. The office closet is full of book boxes. Not just a little full. *Really* full. There are wires and fax machine and printer and assorted other crap all over the office. I can't even see the kitchen counter, and the stereo in the den isn't near hooked up. It looks like we just moved in. Of course, we *did* just move in, but I would have hoped we would have been closer to finished than we are now.

So I bitch about it. Yeah, it's paradise, but I *really* want it to be an organized paradise.

Tomorrow? I think I'll try and park a car in the garage.
